We are eagerly anticipating our graduation ceremony on Friday night, May 29 and we can’t wait to celebrate this momentous occasion with our graduating seniors. In an effort to mitigate confusion, we would like to share some logistical information that will help our families plan ahead for attending the graduation ceremony..
Date: Friday, May 29, 2026
Time: 8:00 p.m. (Gates will open at 6:00 p.m.)
Parking: We plan to publish a map of the area outlining where parking will be available. It will be similar to what we have done in the past. South 18th Street will be closed between President Street and Twigg Street except for vehicles with a valid Handicap Tag or a Graduation Parking Pass. Parking Passes will be distributed to Seniors at Graduation Practice on Friday morning, one per student. Handicap parking will be available on South 18th Street and the fenced in parking lot across the street from the Northwest Gate.
Parking and access to the stadium will not be available from South 17th Street (behind the gymnasium - Northeast corner of the stadium).
Gate Entrance: Entrance to the stadium will be at the northwest gate (intersection of South 18th Street and Kate Street) and the southwest gate (Intersection of South 18th Street and Twigg Street). All other gates will be closed and locked. Everyone who enters the stadium must go through security at those gates (metal detectors and bag checks).
Security: Both gates will have metal detectors for everyone attending graduation to walk through before entering the stadium. Please arrive early so that everyone in your party attending graduation will have ample time to go through security and find a seat before the ceremony begins.
Bags: All bags must be clear, this includes all purses. Diaper bags are excluded from being clear. All bags will be searched prior to entering the stadium
Drinks/Food: No outside food or drink will be permitted in the stadium except clear, unopened water bottles (plastic seal should not be broken)
Confetti Poppers: Confetti poppers/confetti cannons and colored smoke devices are prohibited.
Conclusion of Ceremony: At the conclusion of the ceremony, families will be allowed to enter the field. Field access will be available for 30 minutes. The stadium will close approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the ceremony.
Stadium Exit: All four gates will be open for exit. Please use the gate closest to where you parked to help with traffic congestion.
Rain Contingency: In the event of rain, the school’s administration will decide whether to postpone the ceremony. If needed, we will delay the start of the ceremony for up to two hours. At 10:00 p.m. if conditions have not improved enough to begin the ceremony, we will postpone the ceremony until Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. Further delays may be possible if weather conditions do not warrant a safe ceremony. In the event of a delay and/or postponement, please monitor our social media postings for updates.
Our sincere hope is that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience celebrating the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 at graduation. Please act responsibly and drive safe.

Coach Kenny Barrera has accepted the position of Head Boys Soccer Coach at PJSHS.
With confidence and enthusiasm, Coach Barrera shared his mission for the program.
"I plan to build a program that is built on culture first, where players buy into hard work, discipline, teamwork, and accountability while becoming the best version of themselves on and off the field. I also want to give all respect to Coach Dominguez, as he laid the foundation for this program during his time here, and I plan to continue building off what he started while creating a program our school and community can be proud of. My goal is to establish a competitive program that consistently represents Palatka with pride, intensity, professionalism, and character both on and off the field."
